We’re on the hunt for students who want to learn some sizzling podcasting skills this semester.
You’ll be part of a team of audio lovers learning how to create and pitch new CJSR shows around health. Want to share stories about mental health, staying healthy in school, medicine, recreation, or other health-related topics? Sign up now.
We’ve hit our cap for participants in this bootcamp! Head to cjsr.com/volunteer to learn about more volunteer opportunities at our station.
Orientation runs October 2 (10 AM – 3:30 PM) & October 4 (6 PM – 8 PM) online over Zoom. After that, we’ll be meeting once a week for approximately 8 weeks to record and refine your first audio stories.
You’ll learn how to find a distinctive style for a podcast, interview guests, edit, use music and sound, write a script, and host a show. By the end, you will complete a program proposal and pilot episode for a new CJSR podcast.
You are welcome to create a solo show, bring a friend or two through the bootcamp to collaborate, or make a friend or two during the bootcamp to pitch a show together. It helps to have an idea in mind, but don’t worry if it’s pretty fuzzy right now.
Covid-19 safety is a priority for CJSR, so training and production will be conducted remotely. If conditions permit some in-person (distanced) activities, we’ll discuss it with the whole team beforehand to establish safe protocols.
