CJSR is proud to co-sponsor the University of Alberta’s International week 2019. This year’s focus is on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals that world leaders have committed to for a better world by 2030.
Does the daily news have you clenching your fists with a need to release your thoughts through further discussion?
Are you looking for an outlet that can help you make sense of it all?
UAlberta’s annual International Week is a chance for you to hear various perspectives from around the world, and to engage in deep conversations about global issues.
Each year International Week has a theme that all of I-Week’s speakers, talks and events focus on – this year we address the UNs Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
In 2015, the United Nations adopted the SDG’s, for all world leaders to actively work towards attaining these goals by 2030. Now in 2019, we realize more than ever that every individual on this gorgeous blue planet needs to take action on a local level. Let’s move away from the rhetoric and into action in our local communities. I-Week can show you how with keynote lectures, Global Goals Talks and cultural performances!
I-Week is an incubator of ideas and a source of inspiration – see the program for more details.
All International Week events are free and open to the public. Events take place on University of Alberta’s North Campus, Campus Saint Jean, and Augustana Campus.
